Educational Initiatives

Because education is vital to empowering all people, GPFF engages in significant initiatives in leadership education, character education, and peace education. These include:

• Global Peace Leadership Conferences (GPLC)
• International Young Leaders Summit (IYLS)
• Youth leadership education
• Character Competencies Programs
• Service learning projects.

Character Education
GPFF is particularly active in character education programs, with important models underway in Kenya, Paraguay and the US. For the Character Com-petencies Program in the USA, GPFF partnered in a unique pilot collabora-tion with federal, state, and city agencies, providing workplace and life skills training in the summer of 2010 for the youth of Atlanta, Georgia. In Kenya, GPFF has entered into a comprehensive partnership with the Ministry of Education and Brand Kenya to train teachers in character competency throughout the nation in school-based pilot projects.
